A summer hook-along

We are in the midst of a bit of a summer lull. The garden has been planted and we are waiting to begin harvesting. Everyday has chores and a to do list a mile long, but this time of the summer I feel like I can take a break and indulge in something fun. Something that's not needed, but that I will enjoy. I found a granny square sampler that is going on over at wise craft and just had to join in. It seemed just right. Granny squares are perfect for summer. They are small, so they don't sit heavily on your lap and they work up quickly so even if you just have a few minutes after the sun goes down, you have time. I started on Friday and finished the first week assignment by bed time. Saturday and Sunday I finished week 2 and I started week 3 this morning. I'm not in love with all of the color combinations, but that's the joy of a sampler, when it's time to put it all together I can always replace one or two squares.

If you want to join in, leave a message in the comment box so I know you are hooking along with me. Don't worry if you don't know how to granny, she has great directions and videos for each new square. Give it a try!
I hope you are enjoying this season we are in with a little self indulgence of your own.

  1. Ok I don't know if I have time every day, but I might be able to do a square here and there. Can I have the link?

    1. You don't have to do it everyday. I just wanted to catch up, and I had some time. It could take you a year if you wanted. I linked to it in my post. "granny square sampler that is going on over at wise craft" click on that and it will take you to her page with the details.
