My amazing sister celebrated the first birthday of her first babe, my sweet niece, last month. I try to think back and remember that first first birthday. It seems like a lifetime ago. What kind of hooking auntie would I be if I didn't gift a little yarny love. Albeit, 2 weeks late.
Have we talked yet about this book? Well, if you have littles that need crocheted for this is a great book. I have loads of crochet books and usually there are one or two patterns that I actually make or really like. This one has at least 5 that I plan to make this fall for my babes. Great baby shower gifts and toys too! I definitely suggest checking it out.
This pattern is Swing Set Cardigan. It worked up fairly easily. I will say that you really must be careful to count the first few rows, I was off by a few and it made things a bit wonky.
I used a few vintage buttons that were in my stash. I think they are just the right amount of pretty to complement the green. I just love the super cute sleeves.
It felt just right, in this season of shortening days, to get my hands in some yarn and make something pretty. As my time outside in the evening is ending earlier, I find myself drawn to my yarn stash and books with itchy fingers.
Are you finding yourself in the mood for yarn? What are you working on?
Update: I should have posted this originally.... I used the Naturally Caron Spa bamboo blend in the color Green Sheen.
Love this! I bet June will look so cute in it!
ReplyDeleteI think so too! I'm so excited to give it to her tomorrow.
DeleteCUTEEE!!!!! Added it to my Amazon wish list. What yarn did you use? It looks so delicate!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome to look thru my copy. I seriously love it. I added my yarn to the post but it's the Spa from naturally caron. It is pretty thin, if this was a bigger project I probably would have tried to change it.
DeleteIt's beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks Meg! I can't wait to see it on her.
