Crusty, yummy french bread

So I am super excited that I had success making my first loaf of crusty bread. I used the recipe for French Bread from my Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. I promise to go more into detail on this but I am running super behind getting ready for a busy weekend. So all you get for now is a picture.

As promised, I am back here with you to give you a little more information.  This is the recipe that I used. The only change I made was substituting one cup of whole wheat flour. That was just enough. Adding any more wheat flour would have made it too heavy, I think. Best of all, it was a hit with the "funny clothes" campers!
